Garden visitors, a quiet 4th, and another edition of 'What's blooming around the farm?'

This is one of the most colorful times on the farm. We walk out the door and are surrounded by beauty, the garden is sporting limey green leaf lettuce, some of the cherry tomatoes are turning from green to red, and the cucumbers and various squash are full of orange and yellow blossoms. The perennial flowers refuse to be outdone and are sporting their most vibrant dresses, creamy whites, vibrant yellows, deep reds, and brilliant pinks to name a few. The air is heavy with the heady perfume of the Mimosa. The weather has been hot, 92 degrees today, and they are calling for hotter tomorrow. The sun is merciless, and the air has taken on the hazy, almost visible glow that only comes with this relentless heat.  In taking photos of the glorious color July brings, Autumn and I have noticed many little visitors to the garden....we thought we would share...hope you enjoy!

Some of the many colors of summer! What a beautiful time of year, if someone were getting married here at the farm, this would be a good time to consider. We had a quiet 4th of July here at the farm. Like I mentioned earlier, it was super hot and sunny. We did take Autumn to a local playground for awhile, and while there, I snapped some photos of the farmland and the amazing clouds in the sky. Later Autumn modeled cowgirl boots, the boys had a camp-out in the yard, and we blew bubbles until I was certain I would pass out--a simple, but memorable day. It has been a lazy and quiet week here on the farm, and now, I am getting off my butt to organize some closets---Ugh! Thanks for reading!
